About DIY Motherhood

Hi — I’m Tee. I’m a solo mom raising a neurodivergent child in Toronto. I don’t have a village, but I have a lot of grit, a decent sense of humour, and a Google Doc full of hacks I’ve picked up along the way.

By day, I work as an admin professional — the behind-the-scenes fixer. But the truth is, I’m an undercover entrepreneur. I’ve always had a side hustle. I’ve always looked at the way systems work (or don’t), and thought, “I could make this better.”

I didn’t choose to do this alone — and I don’t think it’s the ideal way to parent. But right now, it’s my reality. No partner, no built-in support system, no village. Just me, my child, and a whole lot of improvising.

This blog isn’t about romanticizing doing everything on your own. It’s about figuring out how to survive when you don’t have help — while staying open to building something better. Whether that’s one day finding a real partner, forming a chosen family, or finally having a support system that makes sense... I haven’t given up on that. But in the meantime, I’m doing what I can with what I’ve got.

I started this blog as a resource for other women like me: juggling parenting, budgeting, and ambition without much outside help. Here you’ll find:

  • Tools and toys that actually help my son
  • Honest reviews and roundups for overwhelmed parents
  • Budget hacks, quiet hustles, and survival plans that still leave space for joy
  • And maybe a little proof that you can figure it out as you go

Whether I end up building a business or becoming someone’s secret weapon in corporate ops (with the salary to match), I know I’m not here to stay small. And neither are you.

Welcome to DIY Motherhood. Let’s build something real.
